Frequently Asked Questions

Bonding

Does it hurt?

In the vast majority of cases, bonding involves no significant discomfort. In fact, freezing is required in only a few situations.

How long does it last?

Typically we expect bonding to last for 3-7 years. However, many factors impact the life span of bonding. Some of these factors include tooth grinding, habits such as nail biting, extremely hard foods like un popped corn kernels, and tooth decay. All these factors are explained to you during the consultation.

How much does it cost?

Bonding can cost between $200 to $500 per tooth depending on the amount and type of work that needs to be done.

Tooth Whitening

Does it hurt?

Most bleaching systems can cause some minor tooth sensitivity while the bleach is being used. It usually goes away within a day or two of the end of your bleaching program. Zoom bleaching can cause sensitivity while the bleaching process is being done, and can last for a day or two afterwards.

How long does it last?

How long bleaching lasts depends largely on the patient. Drinking a lot of tea, coffee, red wine and cola drinks, and smoking tobacco will cause teeth to darken. This is why you had to bleach in the first place! Typically you will want to touch up the bleaching once every 6-12 months. You will be provided with enough touch up material to last for 1 application.

Is it safe?

Bleaching products have been extensively studied, and have been found to be very safe and effective if used as directed.

How much does it cost?

Take home bleaching costs $115, while Zoom! Bleaching costs $800.
